Just as we believe in being transparent about where our honey comes from, we believe in being transparent about how we look after your information.
Who we are
White House Honey Products is a small honey business based in Swithland, Leicestershire, United Kingdom. For data-protection enquiries, contact whitehousehoney@outlook.com.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Your name, email address, telephone number and delivery details.
- Messages or information you send when contacting us.
- Order, gift, wedding-favour or wholesale enquiry details.
Orders and payments
Orders are processed through SumUp. We may receive order details needed to fulfil and support your purchase, but White House Honey Products does not receive or store your full payment-card details.
Website and QR activity
Our hosting and security services may process technical information such as IP address, browser, device, date and time, pages requested and approximate location. When a Meet Your Bees QR link is used, we may also record which hive or campaign link was opened so we can understand customer interest and protect the service.
Live hive streams
Hive pages may use YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed service. Google or YouTube may receive technical information when you interact with an embedded stream. Please see our Cookie Policy for more detail.
Hive Assistant and artificial intelligence
Our private White House Honey Hive Assistant helps us organise apiary records. A hive note submitted through the assistant may include the original transcript, interpreted inspection details, outstanding actions and numbered-super movements. Drafts are held for review and are not added to the permanent hive record until explicitly approved. The service uses OpenAI to process the conversation and a secure Cloudflare Worker and D1 database to store the resulting draft or approved record.
The Hive Assistant is intended for our own apiary administration. It does not make automated decisions about customers.
Why we use information
- To respond to enquiries and provide customer service.
- To process and deliver orders and maintain required business records.
- To operate, secure and improve our website and Meet Your Bees experience.
- To maintain accurate apiary and product-provenance records.
- To comply with legal, tax, accounting, food-safety and consumer-protection obligations.
Our lawful bases
Depending on the activity, we rely on performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the business, or consent where the law requires it—for example for non-essential cookies or optional marketing.
Who we share information with
We use selected service providers where necessary, including SumUp for the online shop and payment processing, Cloudflare for hosting, security and database services, YouTube for live hive streams, OpenAI for the private Hive Assistant, and delivery providers used to fulfil orders. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy arrangements.
Website analytics and visitor intelligence
We record page views, QR-link activity, shop-link clicks and live-stream clicks to understand which parts of the website are useful. Records may include the page viewed, referral source, campaign information, hive or product context, device category, and approximate country, region or city supplied by Cloudflare. We do not store raw IP addresses or full browser user-agent strings in the Visitor Intelligence database.
Page views can be counted without assigning a browser identifier. If you choose Allow cookies, temporary browser storage is used to create a session identifier so that we can estimate unique visits and understand movement between pages. The lawful basis for aggregate, non-identifying measurement is our legitimate interest in improving the website; consent is used before optional browser storage is enabled.
International processing
Some technology providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, the provider is responsible for using an appropriate legal safeguard for the transfer.
How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, including customer support, order fulfilment, accounting, legal obligations, security and apiary traceability. Approved hive records may be retained as part of the long-term history of the apiary. Unapproved Hive Assistant drafts expire after seven days for approval purposes, although limited audit information may be retained to protect the integrity of the platform.
Your rights
Under UK data-protection law, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict or object to its use, and receive a copy in a portable format. These rights depend on the circumstances and are not absolute.
To exercise a right, email whitehousehoney@outlook.com. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Security
We use technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to a small online business, including encrypted connections, access controls and protected API credentials. No internet-connected service can be guaranteed completely secure.
